For the last month spammers have been aggressively hitting blog sites, not just ours.
We are doing the best we can at this. We have IP blockers for known spammers. We have a feature that identifies IP addresses when you mark comment as spam.

Here is the good news out of all this-only you are seeing the spam, not your blog visitors.

The easiest, quickest solution to this problem is not allow comments to your posts. Unless you specifically are wanting comments from legitimate visitors, you can just turn comments off.
You do this by doing the following:
1. Log into your account
2. Click on your blog name
3. Go to Control Centre
4. Go to Blog settings
5. Uncheck 'Enable Comments for all Posts'

This will stop you from getting spam comments.

If you are wanting to receive legitimate comments we will be disabling a feature that will help stop some of the spam comments.
However, no matter what we do, if you want to allow comments on posts, there will always be a way that some spammers can post comments. Again it should be noted that only you will see the comments.

If you are a blog owner, we have a suggestion for you.

When you write an article get in the habit of using the 'More' link. Also known as the 'Split page' link. When writing an article it is the icon on the far right that looks like a split page. After about 2-3 paragraphs you should insert the 'more' link. The reason for doing this is that you will then be able to have several article previews on your home page. If you don't do this your home page will very long and hard for people to see the various articles on your site.

If you use the 'more' link then when someone goes to your blog, in the center section they will see short previews to your posts. If one seems of interest they can click the more link.

I would encourage each of you to read our FAQ's, Getting Started, and Knowledge Base. There is some very helpful info and you will learn of ways to improve your blog.

This is for all ChristianBlogSites.com blog owners.

It has been the policy of ChristianBlogSites.com (CBS) to not have annoying ads on blog sites. We do not sell ad space to any organization. (For most 'free' blog sites, ads are the means to be able to offer free blog sites.)
Until 2009 we did not charge for blogs. For new subscribers I charge an annual fee of $5 a year. However most subscribers continue their blogs without paying the $5 annual fee. Thus, annual fees do not cover CBS expenses.

In order to cover CBS expenses and to help support the non-profit ministry of Fairhaven House and There is Hope Radio-ministries we have decided to raise funds for the ministry by selling 'It's okay to say Merry Christmas" buttons. The net profits from the button sales will go directly to covering CBS expenses and helping the addicted. (I as the program director of Fairhaven House and There is Hope Radio do not receive any income from the ministry). Check out www.tihr.org .

I (CBS) has decided to place an ad on the bottom (footer) of all blogs promoting the "It's Okay to Say Merry Christmas" button. Go to http://www.christianblogsites.com/blog/new-footer.html to see what the ad would look like:

I understand that there may be some blog owners that do not believe in Christmas, or would find it very disturbing for the ad to be on the footer of their blog. We are providing an option for those who do not want the ad on their blog. For $10 (one-time fee) we will remove the ad from your blog template.

If you do not care if the button ad is at the bottom of your blog, do nothing.

If you do not want any ads to appear on your blog then go to http://www.fairhavenhouse.info/store/remove-blog-p-260.html . You will be charged $10. When placing your order be sure to enter in the comment section your blog username and title.

If you do not believe in Christmas please do not email me all the 'proof texts' that is sin to celebrate Christmas. I have heard all of the arguments. I know that Jesus was not born on Dec 25. I know that there were pagans that worshipped trees. I know there is no proof of three wise men, etc. etc. I also know that there are no Scriptures that say it is sin to honor the birth of our Savior (In fact Scripture states that the angels celebrated His birth). Those who have Christmas tress are not worshipping the tree. Yes I know the Christmas season has become materialistic. However, at the same time as Christians we can use the season to proclaim the Gospel. Those who may never hear the Gospel otherwise go to Christmas pagaents, and hear the Gospel message. Christmas proclaims the deity of Jesus Christ (Emmanuel, God with us).

Whether you believe in celebrating Christmas or not, I would encourage everyone to use the upcoming season as a means to share the Gospel of Jesus Christ. The truth is more people are open to the Gospel during the Christmas season.

Recap
If you don't mind the button ad, do nothing.
If you do not want the button ad on your blog, then go to http://www.fairhavenhouse.info/store/remove-blog-p-260.html and we will remove ads from your blog.

Please do not send me emails about Christmas. (Also in the past we had bloggers that were demeaning, hateful, and antagonsitic towards those who celebrate Christmas. This type of behavior in unacceptable and violates CBS policies. Bloggers that practice this behavior will have their account terminated.)

Fairhaven House is a non-profit, faith-based, low income housing and discipleship program for those who are recovering from a variety of addictions (alcohol, drugs, gambling, pornography). Along with providing low income housing Fairhaven House helps individuals to work through the issues that lead them to their addiction.

There is Hope Radio is an outreach of Fairhaven House. There is Hope Radio is a live talk show that discusses addiction & recovery. Through its live talk show format that is heard in the Seattle region, via the Internet, and over 125 podcasts, thousands of people are being presented the message that there is a way out of addiction.

You can help support these ministries by making a donation at the Fairhaven House/There is Hope online store .

Another way you can support these ministries is by their 'It's Okay to Say Merry Christmas Button Campaign' . What do you think? Is it wrong to say Merry Christmas? Should we only say Happy Holidays? If you think It's Okay to Say Merry Christmas then you for sure what to get your own button saying It's Okay to Say Merry Christmas . The buttons only cost $2.00 including shipping & handling. If you buy in bulk the buttons become much cheaper. In fact as low as .75 each. All net profits go towards Fairhaven House/There is Hope Radio. The president of the non-profit (myself), does not receive any salary compensation.

Please help us help those overcoming an addiction.

As a Christian what do you think about Halloween? Is it just an innocent holiday? Is it OK for Christians to celebrate Halloween? Is there anything evil about Halloween?

I am sure Christians have different viewpoints about Halloween. The question I have for Christians is how did you come up with your perspective on Halloween? Was it based upon how you were raised? Was it based upon feelings and emotions? Or was it based upon biblical principles. Does Halloween promote a positive, uplifting environment or an environment that encourages evil? Does the secular concept of Halloween glorify God?

Unless a person is sheltered from society, it is obvious that much of Halloween is focused on violence, death, horror, gore, fear, occult.
If a person says these themes are just for fun, they certainly have bought into a lie. How can a Christian say that the promoting of evil is fun?

I would hope those Christians that believe it is okay to go trick or treating would never dress their children up as demons, evil characters, in a promiscuous manner or in some way that glorifies evil. I would also hope they would not take them to homes that glorify horror. Instead, if possible, why would a Christian parent not rather take their child to a harvest party at their church?

In just a month it will be Happy Holidays time. You know, the politically correct way of greeting someone during Christmas time. Well, I don't know about you, but for me I have never been very politically correct when it comes to my faith in Jesus Christ. I am not ashamed of the Gospel of Jesus Christ for the Gospel is the power of salvation. It is because of the Gospel of Jesus Christ I am alive today. It is because of the Gospel of Jesus Christ that my wife Carmi and I have made many sacrifices to help the addicted. It is because of the birth, death, and resurrection of Jesus Christ that mankind has the opportunity to spend eternity in heaven.

Any Christian knows that no one knows when Jesus was born. Many biblical scholars believe Jesus was born in the spring time. However, for centuries men have been celebrating the birth of Christ on December 25. So for myself and many Christians we see Christmas as a time to honor the birth of Christ and a great opportunity for the Gospel to be proclaimed.

So, I say MERRY CHRISTMAS!

Do you want to join with me in not being politically correct? Would you at the same time like to help support a ministry that is helping individuals to be set free, ad stay free from addictions? If so, we have created a way to do this.

We have 2-1/4" buttons that say "It is okay to say Merry Christmas". When someone purchases a button, the net profits will go to Fairhaven House/There is Hope Radio-ministries helping those who have addictions.

We also have Merry Christmas yard signs.

I am going to be 57 years old on October 29. Now I have to admit that sounds old to me. Am I really that old? But I feel like I have at least another 20 years on this earth. Maybe less hair, less teeth, more wrinkled, more aches, but hopefully still as passionate about serving God, spreading the Gospel of Jesus Christ, and reaching those who are hopeless.

I started ChristianBlogSites as a way to counteract all the ungodly blogs that were on the Internet. Also, as a safe site that Christians could use. For many years we provided the use of the site at no charge. We now charge $5 a year to use the site (and most do not even pay the $5 a year). This no way covers the cost to keep this site functional. However, we are committed to making it available for use.

My passion for the Gospel to be spread is much more than ChristianBlogSites. My wife Carmi and I have devoted our time, energy, finances, life, and even our relationship to help those who are struggling with addictions. It is our passion and burden to make a difference on this earth while we are alive. That is why we are involved with Fairhaven House , There is Hope Radio , Seattle Open Door Church , Community of Hope , and so much more. Both of us had good paying jobs and could have had dedicated our lives to our careers, but instead we have made financial sacrifices for the sake of those struggling with addictions.

As a birthday wish I am asking individuals to give to our Facebook Cause -Helping Those Who Struggle with Addiction. Any donation you give will go directly towards the ministry. I do not receive any compensation from the ministry.

Thank you to those who are able to give.
