Eradicating Christianity

Eradicating Christianity
by
Dr. Jay Worth Allen

Just days ago in Egypt, throngs of Islamist butchers, estimated at 3,000, fired rifles and hurled Molotov cocktails at Coptic Christian Churches, homes, and businesses in the Imbaba region near Cairo: twelve Christians were killed by rooftop snipers - 232 injured; three Christian Churches were set aflame to cries of “Allahu Akbar,” while Coptic Christian homes were looted and torched.

Egyptian Islamic authorities did little to stop the rampage. According to eyewitnesses, the Islamic Mob opened fire around 5:30 p.m., but the Military didn’t arrive till 10 p.m., providing ample time for the Islamic Horde to terrorize the Christians. One priest said he, “called everyone, but no one bothered to come. I mourn all those young people who died,” naively adding, “We now must ask for international protection.”

Noting that this attack is unprecedented in scope, Muslim liberal writer, Nabil Sharaf el Din said, “The army is either incapable [of stopping anti-Christian violence] or is an accomplice to the Salafis [fanatical Islam].”

So what triggered this latest bit of Salafi savagery - or, as MSM calls it, “sectarian strife?” Islamists claim that a Christian girl converted to Islam and the Christian Church responded by abducting her and torturing her into renouncing Islam. Hence, their wild rampage was, in their eyes, a “rescue” effort.

This issue of Christian women supposedly converting to Islam only to be kidnapped by Christians is the Islamists’ latest excuse to make Egyptian Christian life a living hell. This justification is especially ironic, since the well-documented reality in Egypt is the opposite: Muslims regularly kidnap and force Christian women to convert to Islam. Indeed, days before the Rampage, thousands of Islamists marched in front of St. Mark Cathedral, Coptic Pope Shenouda’s residence, demanding the “release” of two wives of the Christian clergy, whom the Muhammadan Madmen insist had converted to Islam only because they had been abducted and tormented by the Church to convert to Christianity.

Last week the Christians in Algeria, who are bordered in the northeast by Islamic, Tunisia, in the east by Islamic, Libya, in the west by Islamic, Morocco, in the southwest by Islamic, Western Sahara Mauritania, and Islamic, Mali, the southeast by Islamic, Niger, sent appeals to Christians world-wide for urgent prayer after the Algerian Islamic Police ordered the “closure of all Christian Churches across Algeria . . . once and for all.”

The Algerian Christian Churches received a notice, dated 22 May 2011, from the Islamic High Police Commissioner informing them that a decision had been made to Shut-Down all Christian places of worship throughout the country that are not Designated for religious purposes.

This mandated Shut-Down is a problematic for Algerian Christians, because most Algerian Christian Church buildings have not been officially Designated for religious purposes. Why? Because it is impossible for Christians to obtain registration from the Islamic Authorities, who passed a Law strategically designed to restrict all Religious Activity of non-Muslims.

Islam’s aim is Eradicating Christianity from the face of the Earth!

The Algerian High Commissioner threatened “severe consequences and punishments,” for Christian violation of these orders, which is the typical sway of terror Islam has been using throughout history in dealing with infidels - anyone who does not adhere completely to the teachings of Muhammad.

Using Algeria’s blasphemy law - that by its very nature, can be used to prosecute anyone who does not adhere to the religion of Islam - last week, officials sentenced Siagh Krimo, an Algerian Christian, to five years imprisonment after simply sharing his Christian faith with a neighbor.

In Islam the Qur’an (Muhammad’s writing) is the Constitution. Allah (Islam’s god) is the author of the Constitutional Law (Shari), and the State is the agent to implement Allah’s Law, as chronicled by their prophet Muhammad. In Islam, there is no separation between Church and State (Qur’an, Surah 12:40). Conversion from Islam to Christianity, according to Islamic Shari Law, is punishable by Beheading.

Islam is a Religion of the Sword!

The Algeria Christian Church grew to be very strong in North Africa in the first six centuries after Christ’s resurrection, producing such famous figures as Augustine. Sadly, after the Arab-Muslim invasions, the Christian Church was eliminated entirely and disappeared for over a thousand years.

Since its independence from France in 1962, Algeria has been a secular state with 99% of its of 35.7 million population being Sunni Muslim. Of the 1% left, 60,000 are Christians, and almost all of them are converts from Islam. That small Band Of The Faithful enjoyed six years of relative religious freedom following the end of their civil war in 2000. But in the past six years, the Islamic Authorities have been steadily clamping down and closing Christian Church activities - using Islamic Shari Laws, Regulations and Wild Rampage as the means.

These riots, fires, murders, clampdowns & closures are the latest and most worrying development in what appears to be a systematic campaign by Islamic Authorities to Eradicate Christianity in all of the Mid-East . . . and then the World!

While we, the American Church, debate sprinkle or dunk Baptism, wine or grape-juice Communion, sugar or chocolate glazed donuts for Church fellowships, our Mid-East Christian Brothers & Sisters are being slaughtered by rabid Islamic Mobs . . . just for believing the Truth.

	God help us.

(Article originally published in The County Journal 2 June 2011.)

© <a href="http://www.drjaymissdiana.com/writingspage-2.htm"
Burn!

BURN!

As always everyone gets it wrong. Where Islam is concerned it seems everybody feels compelled to bend over as far as they can to accommodate this religion and the children that follow it. Witness the outcry over a small church that had the bright idea to burn a few Qu'rans. The Dove World Outreach Center in Gainesville, Florida, says it will burn copies of the Qu'ran on this weekend's ninth anniversary of the September 11 attacks in protest at what it calls "the evil of Islam". This small congregation's pastor, Terry Jones, has insisted the burning will go ahead as planned in spite of the enormous amount of protest that this little demonstration in free speech has generated.

"It could endanger troops and it could endanger the overall effort in Afghanistan. It is precisely the kind of action the Taliban uses and could cause significant problems. Not just here but everywhere in the world we are engaged with the Islamic community." - General David Petraeus"

Protests have already gone ahead in the Afghanistan's capital, Kabul, and in Indonesia, the world's largest Muslim-majority country, while Iran has warned that the burning could unleash an uncontrolled Muslim response.

Why has this expression of free speech generated so much attention? The ONLY news that should have EVER gotten attention is not “Burn a Qu'ran Day”, but the REACTION of Muslims threatening suicide bombings over this silly publicity stunt. This sort of thing happens all the time in the United States. As well it should. In a free society people will often express themselves in extreme ways. In this case Islam "doth protest too much."

We see American flags burned routinely. Politicians and their images are often altered in obscene ways...and of course religious symbols are regularly assailed by insensitive public acts of disapproval. Worse still, we have endured the infamous exhibit where a crucifix was summarily submerged in a jar of urine and we were told that this was an elaborate artistic expression. And if burning Qu'rans is considered an expression of free speech who could not love Marilyn Manson's desecration and destruction of a Bible as he coronates himself as the Antichrist Superstar?

Why does Islam have to be treated with kid gloves? Just because Muslims act like children by throwing tantrums doesn't mean that the rest of us are obligated to accommodate them.

"This is a recruitment bonanza for Al Qaeda. You could have serious violence in places like Pakistan or Afghanistan. This could increase the recruitment of individuals who would be willing to blow themselves up in American cities or European cities." -President Barack Obama

Ahh, the ole' recruitment tool argument again. This is what cowardly progressive types bring up whenever we dare to say or do anything that displeases our enemies. You know, things like invade Iraq, imprison terrorists in Guantanamo Bay, interrogate jihadists or publish Muhammad cartoons. I suppose whipping the Japanese in battle of Midway likewise increased enlistments in the imperial Japanese Navy but our ancestors didn't seem to worry about that. They understood that they were fighting ALL the Japanese and not just the ones who show up on battlefields. We fight wars more "civilized" these days. That is why jihadists come to America posing as students and fly airplanes into our buildings. We still believe in the myth of a moderate Islam.

"People have a constitutional right to burn a Quran if they want to, but doing so is insensitive and an unnecessary provocation — much like building a mosque at ground zero." -Sarah Palin

Sarah Palin at least recognizes that the building of a mosque at Ground Zero is indeed an act of provocation. As such it certainly is justified to burn a few Qu'rans as Terry Jones wants to do or even build Greg Gutfeld's gay bar next door to the mosque as reciprocal acts of sensitive outreach.

The Dove World Outreach Center is an insignificant church of about 50 people. How impressive that by threatening burning some Qu'rans they could conceivably get a personal call from the President of The United States. Thats right, a personal call from the President of the United States. Pastor Terry Jones indicated he could be convinced to call off his burn a Qu'ran demonstration if he received a call from the White House. No need to worry. That call will come to pass. All Muslims have to do is throw a tantrum and we will appease them.

There is some worry amongst those in the White House that acceding to the Pastor's request for a call from the President might legitimize him and further encourage other people to try outlandish stunts just to get presidential attention. Still, why should the President call at all? These type of things happen all the time. In a free society people are offended constantly...especially the religious. It is the price you pay for living in a free society. Once you designate one group of people as un-offendable, you legitimize their superiority. The last thing we should ever do is allow Islam the illusion that we recognize their superiority over us.

This may have started out as relatively silly protest but now it has become bigger than the burning of a few Qu'rans. Pastor Terry Jones needs to finish what he started and President Obama needs to butt out of the issue entirely. If Muslims the world over feel the need to protest, then let them. If they attack us and ours...kill them. But we absolutely must not allow them to see us as weak and themselves as strong. Doing that guarantees more Muslim aggression...and there will be more.

When all is said and done I really like this story. It shows that a few motivated individuals can generate a huge amount of attention by shining a light on Islam. Islam and its followers do not accept criticism and their public threats and protests do a lot to destroy the Progressive Left's myth of equality. All religions are not equal. The weak ones, the ones whose god is false, have to depend on their followers to get even. The real followers of the true God just sit back and enjoy the show...we know how it ends.

Wake Up Church! Islam's Comin'

Wake Up Church!
Islam’s Comin’

". . . Then shall they deliver you up to be afflicted, and shall kill you;
and you shall be hated of all nations for my name's sake.
. . . But he that shall endure unto the end, the same shall be saved. . . ."
Matthew 24:3-14

Michigan police arrest Christians for talking to Muslims.

Four Christians were arrested and jailed for talking to Muslims about Jesus, by order of police chief Ronald Haddad of Dearborn Michigan, who defended the arrests one week after the Sixth Circuit Court of Appeals ordered those same police to let Christian evangelist George Saieg preach openly at a Muslim festival there.

"We didn't distribute literature, or preach anything," said one of the four jailed evangelists. "We spoke only to those people who first approached us, we talked only about Jesus' love . . . and within minutes we were handcuffed and jailed." But Haddad was unrepentant. "We did make four arrests for disorderly conduct," Haddad said. "They did cause a stir" [with their free speech about Jesus. Is talking quietly about Jesus now disorderly, just because some Muslims get angry?

"Allah Akbar!" shouted two Muslims as the Christians were taken away in handcuffs, by police who also seized the Christians' video camera evidence and refused to return video footage of the arrests.

Live video is now on YouTube of another group of three evangelists being detained by the same police the very next day, because they distributed the Gospel of John on a public sidewalk outside the Muslim festival. This new video got 15,000 hits in 3 days, after the police told those being held that city policy states Christian literature is not allowed within 5 city blocks of the Muslim festival, creating a "banned-Bible zone" in violation of the First Amendment.

"The police are enforcing Sharia law in America," said one of the four arrested Christians, explaining that Muslim Sharia law is not just about putting Burkas on women, but also prohibits anyone from talking to Muslims about Jesus, and prevents listeners from escaping Islam by converting to any other religion.

Richard Thompson, President of the Thomas More Law Center, defends the Christians from the ministry called Acts 17, saying: "Contrary to the comments made by Police Chief Ron Haddad, our Constitution does not allow police to ban the right of free speech just because there are some hecklers. Not all police officers approve of the way their department treated these Christians." Richard Thompson also stated that, "Judge Paul Borman had affirmed the city's ban on handing out Christian material near the festival. It was last year when Dearborn police threatened Saieg with arrest if he handed out information on Christianity near the event." The city's ban was temporarily restrained by the Sixth Circuit, but the Police ignored the court, saying the TRO (Temporary Restraining Order) only applied to Saieg, not to any other Christians.

Arrested on charges of "Breach of the Peace" are: Negeen Mayel, Dr. Nabeel Qureshi, Paul Rezkalla, and David Wood. Thomas More Law Center reports Mayel, an eighteen year old female, whose parents emigrated from Afghanistan and a recent convert from Islam to Christianity, was also charged with failure to obey a police officer’s orders, because she raised her voice while being physically violated. She was approximately 100 feet away and videotaping a discussion with some Muslims when her camera was seized.

We, the Church, must get our heads out of the temporal and into the sacred, before we are hauled off to camps for the narrow-minded intolerant.

Note: Dr. Jay was one of the fellow workers, along with Dr. Ralph Winter, director of The Center For World Missions, in birthing "Perspectives", a college/study course dedicated solely to getting the Gospel into Islam and Islamic countries. This course has gone into many countries and thousands of people have been liberated from the bondage of Islamic teachings due directly from the fruit of this course.
<p class="MsoNormal"
Nurturing A Crisis

NURTURING A CRISIS

"We were stepping on the neck of BP to do everything we can do. Our job is keep our boot on the neck of British Petroleum and make sure they live up to their responsibilities." -Ken Salazar, Interior Secretary

President Barack Obama and his bureaucratic henchmen proudly boast that they intend to keep their boot on the neck of a major corporation even as they are entirely dependent on their intended victim to stifle the escalating oil spill in the Gulf of Mexico. It would almost seem an idiotic statement were it not coming from a president who promised that "change is coming to America." Rest assured, the apparent incompetence of the Obama administration is far more nefarious than the "Keystone Cops" illusion that they are gleefully promoting to the American public.

"You never want a serious crisis to go to waste" -Rahm Emanuel, White House Chief Of Staff

No, a crisis must be nurtured and cultivated to fruition. The Obama administration's animosity toward capitalism and big corporations has found the perfect vehicle with which to attack the United States economy. Just as surely as the allied bombers of World War 2 destroyed Germany's ability to survive by killing its fuel supply, so too do today's social engineers intend to cripple our economy by professionally mis-managing both the spill and its subsequent cleanup.

No one could fairly argue that President Obama could have in any way prevented the accident that has led to this disaster. Likewise, no one can suggest that anything within the president's or the federal government's power can realistically alter the situation at the point of the oil leak. This is simply something outside of their area of expertise. Therefore when it comes to containing the leak 5000 feet underwater they are entirely at the mercy of British Petroleum. Lest we be too hard on the unfortunate company, we should all realize that there is no reason that BP should want to prolong the uncontrolled release of the valuable crude into the Gulf. Every day the oil flows represents hundreds of millions of dollars in loss. Bottom line: If they could stop it they would...and they will stop it as fast as they can.

Yet, in an attempt to appear as though it is in command of the situation, the Obama administration announced that it intends to open criminal investigations into the disaster before it has either plugged the leak or made significant efforts to begin cleaning the massive spill.

Attorney General Eric H. Holder Jr. said in New Orleans that he planned to “prosecute to the fullest extent of the law” any person or entity that the Justice Department determines has broken the law in connection with the oil spill. On Wall Street, the Dow Jones industrial average fell 120 points shortly after Mr. Holder’s announcement as energy stocks tumbled on expectations of the federal investigations. BP lost 15 percent of its market value during the day’s trading. - New York Times

Only an ideologically puritanical leftist could see the logic in rushing in a bunch of lawyers while the well is still spewing. You can always count on this administration to cultivate as much harm to the business climate as possible. Various elements of the American left have even gone so far as to suggest that the administration should seize British Petroleum's American assets. Considering the fact that they have already nationalized General Motors, Chrysler, AIG and the entire student loan business this is certainly not an unreasonable possibility. However even this administration, in spite of all its bumbling, is not foolish enough to seize the company until after the leak is stopped. If they did that then Obama truly would own a hole in the ground. But once the leak is plugged...BP should take the threat of seizure seriously.

The damage to the Gulf Coast economy was apparently not disastrous enough to suit the Obama administration, therefore they cleverly decided to make matters worse as fast as possible. With the seafood and tourist industry reeling from the effects of the spill the administration moved in for the kill by issuing a moratorium on new offshore drilling in the Gulf. This moratorium immediately affects 33 rigs and places a still greater burden on the flailing economy of the Gulf Coast states.

First, there are the immediate consequences as tens of thousands of oil industry workers are instantly put out of work by the moratorium. But then, there are the far more sinister long term consequences:

Brazil could benefit from the BP Gulf of Mexico spill as a U.S. moratorium on offshore drilling boosts available rigs for the country’s deep water oil exploration program. Even as an ecological catastrophe makes the future of U.S. offshore drilling less certain, Brazil is plowing ahead with a $220 billion five-year plan to tap oil fields even deeper than BP’s ill-fated Gulf well, which is still leaking crude.

With an estimated 35 rigs idled in the Gulf of Mexico, Brazil is already receiving inquiries from companies looking to move their rigs here, where vast discoveries in recent years may soon turn the country into a major crude exporter. “What is bad for some may be good for others,” said Fernando Martins, Latin America Vice President for GE Oil and Gas, which provides services to drillers in Brazil.

“Since operators are shutting down at least temporarily in the U.S. Gulf, some companies are planning to move their rigs to Brazil now,” he said, without offering details. - Reuters

These consequences are sinister in that the Obama administration is well aware that once these oil operations are moved away from U.S. waters...they won't be coming back. In his attempt to give the appearance of doing SOMETHING (anything?), this administration is further enabling our country's dependence on foreign sources of oil. Is it likewise another coincidence that the democratically controlled U.S. Senate is currently pushing to pass the presidents cap and trade energy bill?

Many others in the conservative media seem puzzled and perplexed at the environmentalists who have apparently given the president a pass on this "mother of all environmental disasters." After all, how can they be silent? If this were a republican president they would be spraying oil all over innocent bystanders at the capitol. What gives? Perhaps they are rejoicing over the fact that those operations currently shut down will be leaving for good...and with them goes the last of the "drill baby drill" crowd's political momentum...or so they believe.

Though this may be the hope of the environmentalists, this will not ultimately lead to the defeat of the "drill baby drill" movement. If you will recall, this movement came about in 2008 when gas prices at the pump were pushing $5.00 a gallon nationwide. The country may very well be lenient on Obama for his inability to stop the leaking oil but if gas prices surge again it will be as a direct result of HIS actions. He is very aware of that fact. He has other motives. It should be noted that all five Gulf Coast states have republican governors and four of the five voted for McCain in the presidential election. Coincidence?

If the president is powerless to stop the leaking oil then he should be focusing on that which his power can have an influence: containing and cleaning the oil that has escaped. This is where president Obama "appears" to be at his most incompetent. Governors from Louisiana, Mississippi and Alabama have been clamoring for more floating oil containment booms from the very beginning of this catastrophe. These devices, in sufficient numbers, would have been able to protect the beaches and the marshes from the oil that is now ruining them. Inexplicably these booms have not been forthcoming. For some reason, the Obama administration would like for us to believe there is a shortage of these devices as this exchange with Admiral Thad Allen, the man in charge of the administration's cleanup operations, demonstrates:

Jake Tapper, ABC: I talked to a guy who runs a company in Maine that offers boom, and he has — he says — the ability to make 90,000 feet of boom a day. High quality. BP came there 2 weeks ago, looked at it, they are doing another audit today. He is very frustrated, he says he has a lot of high quality boom to go and it is taking a long time for BP to get its act together. Don’t you need this boom right now?

Admiral Thad Allen: Oh we need all the boom wherever we can get it. If you give me the information off camera I’ll be glad to follow up.

Hmm... I hate to come down on a serviceman, but his answer is particularly disingenuous. There was no need for the admiral to ask for the information from Jake Tapper. It’s contained in a letter that has been sitting on the admiral’s desk since May 21st. Copies of letter were also sent to Secretary of the Interior Ken Salazar and to NOAA Administrator Jane Lubchenco. The letter proudly touts the Auburn, Maine company Packgen and its capability of supplying the necessary boom and was written and signed by both Maine senators, Olympia Snow and Susan Collins. Unfortunately for the Obama administration this letter is widely available to the public.

Apparently Packgen has miles of floating oil containment boom in warehouse right now and they say they can make lots more on short notice. Packgen owner John Lapoint said his company is ramping up production to make 90,000 feet of oil boom per day. Packgen first alerted the government 4 WEEKS AGO that they can produce more boom than anyone in the US and abroad. And yet the governors of the Gulf states have been denied these resources even as the oil was encroaching ever closer to their shores. Did I mention that all five Gulf states have republican governors and four out of five of them voted for McCain?

Florida's state Senator, Bill Nelson, worries about yet another problem that is not being adequately addressed by the Obama administration. State emergency officials say there are not enough skimmers out in the Gulf catching oil.

“Three days after the explosion of the Deepwater Horizon in the Gulf of Mexico, the Dutch government offered to help. It was willing to provide ships outfitted with oil-skimming booms, and it proposed a plan for building sand barriers to protect sensitive marshlands.
The response from the Obama administration and BP, which are coordinating the cleanup: “The embassy got a nice letter from the administration that said, ‘Thanks, but no thanks,’” said Geert Visser, consul general for the Netherlands in Houston.” - Houston Chronicle

Now, after over 50 days of oil flowing freely into the gulf, the question must be asked: Why do effective and proven foreign clean-up ships remain unused and their offers to help unaccepted? Could it have something to do with the Obama administration’s close relationship with labor unions?

Suspicion revolves around the Merchant Marine Act of 1920, sometimes referred to as the Jones Act. The Act requires that ships that do business within the US be staffed with at least 75% American Citizens. In addition, ships that operate within U.S. waters have heavy restrictions placed on foreign manufacture. In its day, the law was made in order to protect American seamen. Today it has become a nuisance to the effort to clean up the oil spill. There are skimmer boats that wish to help clean up the oil, but the problem is they aren’t owned and operated in the United States. Therefore, under the Jones Act, they cannot work.

This is a big deal to the unions. They see it as protecting jobs. Or, more to the point, protecting UNION jobs. They don't like it when the Jones Act gets waived, and they take revenge on the politicians that do it. So is the Obama administration placating the unions and not doing everything he can to advance the cleanup of the spill? The administration continues to say that no one has requested a waiver of the Jones act. Perhaps it is simply because all foreigners and most Americans are simply unaware of the need to request a waiver. It should be noted that in the aftermath of Hurricane Katrina President Bush granted a general waiver of the act so that all help that was available could be utilized...regardless of the source. But G.W. was not beholden to the unions. It should also be noted that the Obama administration has never acted against the wishes of the labor unions. The trend continues.

And then there is this...

Pursuant to 14 CFR section 91.137(a)(1) temporary flight restrictions are in effect for deepwater horizon/mississippi canyon (mc252) incident cleanup and reconstitution operations an area bounded by: 290500n/0904000w or the leeville /lev/ vortac 258 degree radial at 30.1 NM to 300000n/0890000w or the gulfport /gpt/ vortac 169 degree radial at 24.7 NM to 300000n/0870000w or the crestview /cew/ vortac 196 degree radial at 52.2 NM to 280000n/0870000w or the panama city /pfn/ vortac 208 degree radial at 149.6 NM to 280000n/0904000w or the leeville /lev/ vortac 201 degree radial at 76.3 NM to the point of beginning at and below 3000 feet AGL excluding the airspace outside of 12 nautical miles from the us coastline.

All aircraft operations are prohibited except those flights authorized by ATC, routine flights supporting offshore oil operations; federal, state, local and military flight operations supporting oil spill recovery and reconstitution efforts; and air medical and law enforcement operations.

That's right, The Federal Aviation Administration has banned all flights over the Gulf of Mexico oil spill. After all, some of those flights could lead to nasty photos and more bad press for the thinned skinned Obama. The president has nurtured this catastrophe to make sure it grew to calamitous proportions...but he doesn't need for us to see a photograph of it lest we become fully aware of what he has done.

"In the same way that our view of our vulnerabilities and our foreign policy was shaped profoundly by 9/11, I think this disaster is going to shape how we think about the environment and energy for many years to come." - President Barack Obama

By comparing this disaster to the 9/11 attacks he is telling you that he fully intends to use this opportunity to push his already discredited climate/energy plan. The infamous cap and trade bill has been sitting lifeless in the senate for a year. His plans for placing huge cost increases on energy have not went away just because they are unpopular with the American people. This crisis is not going to go to waste!

America is now coming to understand that this president’s sense of identification lies not in American exceptionalism but in a belief that America is a force of evil in the world that needs to be destroyed. He never sounds convincingly like the leader of a great nation, because he is, in his heart, the product of his ideological upbringing. If you were at war with America, you could hardly do better than he has done.
He has increased the federal debt by more than all of his predecessors...COMBINED! He has coddled America's enemies even as he is undermining the alliance with our two best allies, Great Britain and Israel. He has attacked American capitalism by nationalizing companies and passing a stimulus bill that took 800 billion dollars away from the private economy and used it to bail out government unions...and he has had the audacity to ask the congress for another 50 billion to bail them out again!

By exploiting the Gulf oil disaster to promote his own, and his benefactors, political agenda he has placed the United States further into the clutches of dependence on foreign oil. If you were out to destroy America you could hardly do better than he has in just 18 months. Obama promised to change America. He never implied he had the slightest interest in running it. Destruction is change. And did I mention that the five states directly affected by his intentional mis-management of this crisis all have republican governors?

Cab Driver Returns $21,000 to Tourist

A New York City cab driver is being praised for returning more than $21,000 lost by a visitor from Italy.
Felicia Lettieri, who's 72, left her purse in a Manhattan taxi on Christmas Eve. It contained traveling money for her and six relatives.
Police told them not to get their hopes up about finding it.
The cabbie drove about 50 miles, to a Long Island address he'd found in the purse. No one was home, so he left his phone number and later returned with the money.
Lettieri's daughter, Maria Rosaria Falonga, told Newsday from Pompei, Italy, that the cabbie also left a note.
He told her: "Don't worry, Felicia. ... I'll keep it safe."
"When I was 5 years old, my mother told me, 'Be honest, work hard and you will raise your station,' " said the driver, Mukul Asaduzzaman, to the New York Post newspaper. He refused a reward.

88 Year Old Delivers 10,000 Meal

Nathan Acker, 88, has been delivering meals from Prides Corner Congregational Church in Westbrook for 23 years.

Every Wednesday he loads up 14 meals and hits the road.

Wednesday was special because after all of those years, he delivered his 10,000th meal.

Acker has no intentions of slowing down and said the people on the other end of the meals mean a lot to him.

"I like being with people. This isn't the only thing I do. I volunteer at nursing homes. I run a bridge game at one of the nursing homes. We have a program at our church. I say the only reason I got the job was that I was the only one who would do it," said Acker.

Acker is a World War II veteran and a graduate of Massachusetts Institute of Technology. He said he never retired because the company he worked for went bankrupt.

Mother, Baby Revived, After Both Dying

DENVER - Mike Hermanstorfer was clutching his pregnant wife’s hand when her life slipped away in a Colorado hospital on Christmas Eve, and then he cradled his newborn son’s limp body seconds after a medical team delivered the baby by Cesarean section.

Minutes later he saw his son come to life in his arms under the feverish attention of doctors, and soon he learned his wife had inexplicably come back to life.

Hermanstorfer’s wife, Tracy, went into cardiac arrest and stopped breathing during labor on Thursday, said Dr. Stephanie Martin, a maternal fetal medicine specialist at Memorial Hospital in Colorado Springs, where the Hermanstorfers had gone for the birth of their son.

“She had no signs of life. No heartbeat, no blood pressure, she wasn’t breathing,” said Martin, who had rushed to Hermanstorfer’s room to help. “The baby was, it was basically limp, with a very slow heart rate.”

After their miraculous recovery, both mother and the baby, named Coltyn, appear healthy with no signs of problems.

“My legs went out from underneath me,” Hermanstorfer said Tuesday. “I had everything in the world taken from me, and in an hour and a half I had everything given to me.”

She said she cannot explain the mother’s cardiac arrest or the recovery.

“We did a thorough evaluation and can’t find anything that explains why this happened,” she said.

Mike Hermanstorfer credits “the hand of God.”

“We are both believers ... but this right here, even a nonbeliever — you explain to me how this happened. There is no other explanation,” he said.

Asked about divine intervention, Martin said, “Wherever I can get the help, I’ll take it.”

Tracy Hermanstorfer, 33, was getting prepped for childbirth at the hospital Thursday morning and her 37-year-old husband was by her side when she began to feel sleepy and laid back in her bed.

“She literally stopped breathing and her heart stopped,” her husband said. Pandemonium erupted as doctors and nurses tried to revive her with chest compressions and a breathing tube, but nothing worked.

“I was holding her hand when we realized she was gone,” Hermanstorfer said. “My entire life just rolled out.”

Doctors told him, “We’re going to take your son out now. We have been unable to revive her and we’re going to take your son out,” he recalled.

'His life began in my hands'
After the Cesarean section, some of the team rushed his wife to the operating room while the others attended to Coltyn.

“They hand him to me, he’s absolutely lifeless,” Hermanstorfer said. The doctors went to work on Coltyn as Hermanstorfer held him, and soon he began to breath.

“His life began in my hands,” Hermanstorfer said. “That’s a feeling like none other. Life actually began in the palm of my hands.”

Martin said Tracy Hermanstorfer’s pulse returned even before she was wheeled out of the room and into surgery. She estimates Hermanstorfer had no heartbeat for about four minutes.

Hermanstorfer remembers getting sleepy and closing her eyes in her hospital bed, then awakening in the intensive care unit.

Friends have asked if she saw a light or had other experiences described by others who have survived near-death experiences, but she didn’t.

“I just felt like I was asleep,” she said.

When doctors told her what happened, “I’m like, ’Holy cow, was it that bad? Wow.”’

The Hermanstorfers returned Monday to their home in Security, just outside Colorado Springs about 65 miles south of Denver.

Boy Returns Stolen Purse with $1,900

Crooks beware: There are good kids out there looking to thwart your dastardly — and dumb — deeds.

Or as Donna Myers sees it, her son returning a stolen purse with nearly $2,000 cash is good beating evil.

On Saturday morning, Myers and her three kids helped their Fisher Park neighbors plant and water 12 trees in the park near North Elm Street .

Myers and her oldest son, 11-year-old Edward , went to retrieve water from the creek and spotted a waterlogged purse on the bank.

Edward, a Boy Scout, jumped down three feet onto a flat rock to grab the heavy, black purse. Myers unzipped the bag and the wallet inside.

“I noticed there was no money on the side billfold part, and I opened up this zipper and that’s where I saw all the Benjamins,” she said.

Nineteen of them, police said.

Officer M.L. Sletten arrived and called the phone number on a checkbook.

The owner of the purse showed up a short time later. She said she had left her purse in the car on Thanksgiving while visiting her daughter on Magnolia Street .

When she returned, her car had been broken into and her purse was gone. About $30 in the main billfold was stolen.

Sletten said the suspects likely flung the purse in the creek.

As a reward, the woman gave Edward one of those soaked $100 bills. He bought a $60 Carolina Panthers jersey and gave the rest to his mom.

“It was a great ending,” Myers said. “Especially right here before the holidays.”

5-Year Old Calls 911 for Mother

Nevaeh Lawrence is a bundle of energy; a happy-go-lucky kid who's learning how to read. The 5-year-old is taking on the world and learning important lessons from her mom.

Things were calm Wednesday, but that was not the case Monday.

"I remember taking a bath because it was cold and I don't remember anything else after that except waking up and the cops and EMTs," mom Kimberly Lawrence explained.

Kimberly Lawrence said she went to the tub to warm up because she was in a minor car accident near her home.

The first responders were there because Nevaeh made an important phone call.

"I called 911," Nevaeh said.

It was a critical call that helped her mom, who was likely having a diabetic reaction.

Stowe Police Ofc. Bruce Emerson said, "As it turned out she had blacked out in the tub and had the little girl not called us, not called 911, who knows what would have happened to the mother with the tub full of water?"

Dispatchers get 911 calls from youngsters all the time, but the experienced dispatcher from Lamoille County could tell this call was serious.

"Well I get a lot of calls from kids like that but this one didn't sound right," said Gary Underwood of the Lamoille County Sheriff's Dept. "This little girl was giving us information."

Like information about the car accident and that her Mom could not come to the phone.

Because Kimberly Lawrence is a diabetic, she taught Nevaeh how to use 911 in an emergency.

"She is the only one who is home alone with me and what if I was not available? So I was teaching her with the remote so she did not dial it accidentally on the phone trying to get it right, so if she knew mommy was hurt or daddy, so this was the way to go," Kimberly Lawrence explained.

"She probably did exactly what she was supposed to do and we give her all the credit in the world and her mom is lucky to have her there," Emerson said.

"It was an excellent ending," Underwood said. "It is the way we like to see them."

An excellent ending thanks to a little 5-year-old girl who did a big thing to help her mom.

The Soldier Who Smuggled Himself Into Auschwitz

When millions would have done anything to get out, one remarkable British soldier smuggled himself into Auschwitz to witness the horror so he could tell others the truth.

Denis Avey is a remarkable man by any measure. A courageous and determined soldier in World War II, he was captured by the Germans and imprisoned in a camp connected to the Germans' largest concentration camp, Auschwitz.

But his actions while in the camp - which he has never spoken about until now - are truly extraordinary. When millions would have done anything to get out, Mr Avey repeatedly smuggled himself into the camp.

Now 91 and living in Derbyshire, he says he wanted to witness what was going on inside and find out the truth about the gas chambers, so he could tell others. He knows he took "a hell of a chance".

"When you think about it in today's environment it is ludicrous, absolutely ludicrous," he says.

"You wouldn't think anyone would think or do that, but that is how I was. I had red hair and a temperament to match. Nothing would stop me."

He arranged to swap for one night at a time with a Jewish inmate he had come to trust. He exchanged his uniform for the filthy, stripy garments the man had to wear. For the Auschwitz inmate it meant valuable food and rest in the British camp, while for Denis it was a chance to gather facts on the inside.

He describes Auschwitz as "hell on earth" and says he would lie awake at night listening to the ramblings and screams of prisoners.

"It was pretty ghastly at night, you got this terrible stench," he says.

He talked to Jewish prisoners but says they rarely spoke of their previous life, instead they were focused on the hell they were living and the work they were forced to do in factories outside the camp.

"There were nearly three million human beings worked to death in different factories," says Mr Avey. "They knew at that rate they'd last about five months.

"They very seldom talk about their civil life. They only talked about the situation, the punishments they were getting, the work they were made to do."

He says he would ask where people he'd met previously had gone and he would be told they'd "gone up the chimney".

"It was so impersonal. Auschwitz was evil, everything about it was wrong."

He also witnessed the brutality meted out to the prisoners, saying people were shot daily. He was determined to help, especially when he met Jewish prisoner Ernst Lobethall.

Mr Lobethall told him he had a sister Susana who had escaped to England as a child, on the eve of war. Back in his own camp, Mr Avey contacted her via a coded letter to his mother.

He arranged for cigarettes, chocolate and a letter from Susana to be sent to him and smuggled them to his friend. Cigarettes were more valuable than gold in the camp and he hoped he would be able to trade them for favours to ease his plight - and he was right.

He suffered from Post Traumatic Stress Disorder when he came back from the war and has only recently been able to speak about what he did and what he saw.

Mr Lobethall traded two packs of Players cigarettes in return for getting his shoes resoled. It helped save his life when thousands perished or were murdered on the notorious death marches out of the camps in winter in 1945.

Mr Avey briefly met Susana Lobethall in 1945, when he came home from the war. He was fresh from the camp and was traumatised by what he'd witnessed and endured.

At the time both of them thought Ernst was dead. He'd actually survived, thanks - in part - to the smuggled cigarettes. But she lost touch with Mr Avey and was never able to tell him the good news.

The BBC has now reunited the pair after tracing Susana, who is now Susana Timms and lives in the Midlands. Mr Avey was told his friend moved to America after the war, where he had children and lived a long and happy life. The old soldier says the news is "bloody marvellous".

He admits some may find it hard to believe and acknowledges it was "foolhardy".

"But that is how I was," he simply says.

Bactaria that Can Identify Location of Landmines

Bacteria which glow green in the presence of explosives could provide a cheap and safe way to find hidden landmines, Edinburgh scientists claim.

The bugs can be mixed into a colourless solution, which forms green patches when sprayed onto ground where mines are buried.

Edinburgh University said the microbes could be dropped by air onto danger areas.

Within a few hours, they would indicate where the explosives can be found.

The scientists produced the bacteria using a new technique called BioBricking, which manipulates packages of DNA.

Alistair Elfick, from the university's school of engineering, who supervised the student-led project, said: "This anti-mine sensor is a great example of how innovation in science can be of benefit to wider society.

"It also demonstrates how new scientific techniques can allow molecules to be designed for a specific purpose."

Each year, between 15,000 and 20,000 people are killed or injured by landmines and unexploded ordnance, according to the charity Handicap International.

Some 87 countries are riddled with minefields, including Somalia, Mozambique, Cambodia, Iraq and Afghanistan.

Veteran, 84, Attacks Gun-Weilding Thief

John Dietsch wasn't scared – then or now. While working in the engine room of World War II Allied warships in the North Atlantic, he faced the threat of Nazi mines, warships and U-boats.

"You would hear the guns go off above us. You could feel it all around you," said the 84-year-old.

"There really wasn't time to be scared."

It was the same on Thursday afternoon, when a gunman stormed into a Royal Canadian Legion in Scarborough, demanding thousands in poppy donations. Dietsch and three others had just finished counting through $10,000 at Oakridge Legion, Branch 73, near Danforth and Warden Aves.

"At first, I didn't see the gun. I said, `What are you doing here?' He said he wanted all the bills," said Dietsch. "But nobody was going to get that money we had worked so hard to collect. It's for the veterans and the widows and the community."

When the gunman lunged for the cash, Dietsch grabbed his arm, pushing away the gun. They struggled and Dietsch fell to the floor. The startled attacker, who looked to be in his 20s, ran to the door empty-handed.

Legion volunteer Earl Gray, 64, followed and tackled the gunman outside the accounting room. Gray pinned him to the floor briefly, but the man escaped out a side door.

It had happened in minutes, just after noon. After the robbery attempt, Gray and a few others took the money to the bank. Dietsch got back to sorting the poppy boxes.

By 2 p.m., news of the troubling attack began to spread. Throngs of media found the veteran quietly nursing a bottle of beer at the back of the Legion's basement bar.

"Looking back, it was probably a stupid thing to do," said Dietsch, fidgeting with his 60th anniversary Legion membership ring.

Police encouraged Dietsch, who hurt his elbow, to go to a doctor.

"No, no, no. It was just a little scratch," he said.

Gray, who chased the gunman down the street and then attempted to track him by car, called his friend a "brave man" and a hero.

"I'm just really thankful that no one was hurt," said Gray, whose bravery was also praised.

Pat Shone, 65, who runs the poppy drive at Branch 73, was also in the room.

"I was very surprised," he said. "I think it's just disgusting. What kind of a person would do such a thing?

"This is money for war veterans and widows. And not just from previous wars, the veterans and widows of today's wars."

Police are looking for a black man, who was wearing a dark toque and clothing and stands about 5-foot-10. Const. Tony Vella said Dietsch should be commended for his efforts, but cautioned others about taking similar action.

"It's a difficult situation. We want to thank him for getting involved. What we recommend for people, if you feel comfortable intervening, if you feel physically comfortable, take action," he said. "You have to be cautious. You may be jeopardizing your life in some situations."

But this was not the first time Dietsch has put his life in danger.

Back in 1943, during the height of the Battle of the Atlantic, the 18-year-old from Scarborough signed up with Royal Canadian Navy. He spent the next three years on minesweepers in the North Atlantic, shuttling supply ships on Allied convoys. It was one of the most dangerous details in World War II.

Like many vets, Dietsch struggled to find a job after the war. Eventually, he started working at a Toronto hotel. Dietsch and his wife of nearly 40 years live near the east-end Legion. They have five daughters and half a dozen grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

He spends much of his time volunteering. Last year, Dietsch took a lead role in poppy collection. His branch raised about $35,000.

Inmates Save Deputy's Life

The four men entered the room at Orient Road Jail to news cameras rolling and reporters firing questions.

Jerry Dieguez Jr., Terrell Carswell, David Schofield and Hoang Vu have received a flurry of attention since Wednesday when word got out how the four inmates came to the rescue of Deputy Kenneth Moon, who was being strangled by another inmate.

The event was caught on tape and the dramatic video has made the men into worldwide celebrities. The sheriff's office already has fielded calls from "The Oprah Winfrey Show," "Inside Edition" and TV stations from as far away as Norway. All wanted interviews with the men.

In addition to the media, the sheriff's office has received about a dozen calls nationally from people wanting to donate money into the men's jail accounts. One caller from New Jersey wanted to donate a flat screen television for the men's cell unit.

So far, the men from Pod 7-Delta seem to take it in stride.

At a news conference Thursday afternoon, they said the incident gave them a chance to show their true natures.

"It means a lot to me," said Schofield, 34. "That shows you how much respect and what kind of heart I got. You got to be respectful to your elders and yourself.''

"At least I did something right," said Carswell, 38. "We do have a heart."

The group also shed some more light on exactly what happened Monday. At around 12:45 p.m. that day, the 62 men in the cell unit were picking up their lunch of sandwiches and cookies.

Inmate Douglas Burden didn't come down until everyone was served. He approached Dieguez, 48, who was handing out the sandwiches to the inmates. Dieguez said he asked Burden if he wanted a sandwich, but Burden looked at him with no interest.

Deputy Moon was sitting behind the control unit. He told Burden didn't want to eat he should go back to bed. Seconds later, Burden sneaked around the control unit and attacked Moon, 64.

The 5-foot-4, 160 pound Burden got his arms around Moon's throat and put him in a chokehold.

Seconds later, Dieguez rounded the desk and, on the run, punches Burden in the face.

"Out of instinct I attacked him and hit him as hard as I could," Dieguez said.

Burden fell to the ground and Dieguez, Carswell and Vu charged him and held him down. Schofield took the deputy's radio and called for help at the control center.

The four inmates know Moon well. All said they have respect for him and how he treats them. He has strict rules but he is fair, the inmates said.

"Moon, he goes out of his way," Carswell said. "Even though he's an officer, he acts like a father figure and like a doctor."

Moon isn't available for interviews, the sheriff's office said. He has a severe sore throat and his voice is raspy. He is suffering from soreness and pain around his neck, the sheriff's office said.

Carswell said this is the second time they have had to pull Burden off someone in the cell unit. About two months ago, he attacked an inmate, he said.

Carswell called Bundren's actions wrong but said "his mind kind of went out of him."

The sheriff's office has written a letter of commendation for the inmates. Attorneys for the men hope that their action is looked upon favorably during the judicial process and might lead to early release.

Dieguez is in jail on an armed home invasion charge. Carswell is charged with robbery, marijuana possession, cocaine trafficking, failure to register as a sex offender and obstructing an officer.

Schofield is in jail on aggravated assault and battery charges. Vu is charged with attempted murder.

Burden, 24, has been in jail since March 14 on driving under the influence and drug trafficking charges. A charge of battery on a law enforcement officer has been added after Monday's attack.

Col. James Previtera, who heads the county's jail system, said he hopes people realize the work that detention deputies do and the risks they take.

"I hope the public becomes more aware of how dangerous their job is," Previtera said. "And the public becomes more thankful that there are men and women that do this job."

He also appreciates the action of the men who defended his deputy.

"It says that deep down there is good in every one no matter what they've done in their past or what mistakes they made," Previtera said.

Yankees Manager Helps Crash Victim

Yankees manager Joe Girardi capped a victorious World Series night by helping a woman who had crashed her car on a suburban New York parkway.

"Obviously, there's a lot of joy in what we do, but we can't forget to be human beings where we help others out. I think that's the most important thing we can do in life," Girardi said during an interview on WFAN-AM radio.

Girardi was driving to his Westchester home with his wife around 2:30 a.m. Thursday, hours after the Yankees' World Series win over the Phillies, when he came across a vehicle that had crashed into a wall.

"Her SUV looked horrible," Girardi said. "We pulled off to the right, I had my wife call the police, I ran across the street because as bad as the car looked, I was really concerned. When I got there she was on the phone talking to the police.

"She only had a little cut. She couldn't open the door and I said, 'Ma'am, you need to get out of this car because if someone comes around the bend they're going to hit the back of your car.' "

Police arrived a few minutes later.

"She had no idea who I was," Girardi said of the driver, Marie Henry of Stratford, Conn.

30 Top Surgeons to Give 200 Kids a Better Life

Some 200 poor children with deformed limbs have come to Bangalore in the hope of learning to walk, skip and jump like their friends. Making them realize their dream will be 30 top surgeons from India, UK and USA who will conduct 30 surgeries a day. All this free of cost.

The Sparsh Hospital at the health city came alive on Monday when doctors began their week-long operations. The foreign specialists had flown down at their own cost bringing with them their medical equipment. Some of the complex challenging musculoskeletal abnormalities that will be tackled are: congenital pseudoarthrosis of the tibia, club foot, cerebral palsy, congenital dislocation of hips and gross deformity correction.

Named Sparsh Vachana, the promise of a better life, the initiative is inspired by Lakshmi Tatma’s story. “We had successfully operated on an ischiopagus conjoined twin called Lakshmi Tatma in Nov 2007. The entire cost of the treatment was written off by the charitable wing of the hospital, SPARSH Foundation. Since then, we have had a large number of children come to us from very humble background with complex problems. So we embarked on a massive operation like this,’’ chairman and chief orthopaedic surgeon, Dr Sharan Patil, said.

From recitation of the inaugural song to lighting the lamp, some of the children undergoing surgery participated in the launch. The ambience at the hospital was made child-friendly with coloured walls and toys on the corridors.

What Could Possibly Go Wrong With This?

WHAT COULD POSSIBLY GO WRONG WITH THIS?

While we celebrate breast cancer awareness week here in America, it's good to know our Islamic friends likewise are concerned about the safety of their women's breasts...sort of:

Muslim Militants in Somalia Crack Down on Deceptive Bras!

A Somalian Muslim group reportedly has started whipping women in public for wearing bras that violate Islam, the Daily Mail reports. Residents claim insurgent group Al Shabaab sent gunmen into the streets to round up women who appeared to have a firm bust. The women are inspected to see if their suspected firmness is natural or from a bra.

Officials reportedly make the women shake their breasts after removing their bras. "Al Shabaab forced us to wear their type of full veil and now they order us to shake our breasts," a resident, Halima, told Reuters, adding that her daughters had been whipped on Thursday.

The new bra rule adds to the long list of religious restrictions in Somalia, including a ban on movies, musical cell phone ring tones, dancing at weddings and playing soccer. - FOXNews

And the National Organization For Women would have us believe that women are being persecuted in the United States when a 14 year old girl's parents have to be notified before she can have an abortion...

Woman Accidently Donates $13,000

Two Wisconsin Goodwill workers made a surprising discovery while sorting through a load of donated shoes -- $13,000 in cash.

Jerry Schmitz, 30, and Len Nyen, 55, are used to finding loose change and knick-knacks when unpacking footwear from boxes and binding them with rubber bands, but two weeks ago they found a yellow envelope full of $100 bills dated from 1981.

"My mind kind of went blank for a couple minutes," Schmitz told the Wisconsin Rapids Tribune. "And I didn't really know what to think. I guess I was in a state of shock, you know."

Rather than pocketing the money, they immediately handed it over to their manager, Dan Linzmeier. Police used a tax receipt to track down the original owner and return the money.

The woman, who did not want to be identified, said the money belonged to her husband, who is now in a nursing home. He lived through the Great Depression and developed a habit of stashing cash at home, she said.

The woman later met the two good Samaritans and thanked them for their kind gesture. She gave each a small reward.
Nyen said that he and his co-worker knew that they had done the right thing.

"The Saturday morning [after returning the money] I said, 'How do you feel?' He said, 'I feel good.' I said, 'I feel good, too.'"

Man's Skull Grows Back

A man who was injured in a car crash more than 50 years ago has miraculously grown back his skull, according to reports.

72-year-old Gordon Moore had worn a metal plate to protect his brain after an accident, and when surgeons removed it, they found his skull had regenerated underneath.

Doctors say it is an extremely rare medical occurrence, and it is believed there has been only one other similar case in the world.

Mr Moore reportedly wore the metal plate to protect the front section of his skull, from his eye to his ear and back to the top of his head.

The amazing discovery of the new bone was found when doctors operated on Mr Moore to treat an infection around the plate.

The former postmaster is quoted as saying, "They took the infected plate out and found I had grown a completely new skull underneath, so they just stitched me up."

He added, "They were totally amazed."

Newcastle Hospitals consultant neurologist Param Bhattahiri said, "It was a great surprise to find the skull had grown back. You would expect it in a child, but not in an adult, certainly not an area of bone so big."

Mr Moore is enjoying a new lease of life.

"Everyone thinks it's great. I'm very lucky I suppose. I was told the metal plate would last me for the rest of my life. I never expected this to happen," he said.

The Uniting of a Mother and Daughter

A mother and daughter torn apart by cold war politics and tyranny in Eastern Europe were finally reunited this week after almost 40 years.

Petra Hoffman, now 55, was just 16 when her daughter was taken from her shortly after birth and given up for adoption in East Germany in 1971. The Stasi secret police had her labeled as an unfit mother because the baby's father had been jailed for speaking out against the then-Communist government, according to UK's Daily Mail.

Her efforts to regain her baby earned her a brief prison term and label of enemy of state. After being freed, she gave birth to a boy in 1974.

"They came to the door at night, pushed me aside, and stole him from his bed," she told the Mail.

She continued to fight to get her children back and eventually landed back in jail for a six-year stint.

Her release from prison coincided with the fall of the Berlin Wall an the end of Communism. She was released and then resumed her quest to find her offspring through a variety of methods but to no avail. Hope seemed lost until six weeks ago when she received a revealing letter that read: "You don't know me at all, but I believe you are my mother."

Mandy Reinhardt, 38, was a mother of two who had been searching for a birth parent since 1992. She had been adopted by a couple who supported the former ruling party.

"My foster parents were lovely people but she is my real mother and I have waited so long for this day," Reinhardt told the Mail.

Hoffman and Reinhardt embraced for the first time this week and wept together over what each had been through.

Reinhardt said her foster parents also had information on her brother who she vows to find as well.
